Selangor FC Women’s Team Ends The Liga Wanita National (LWN) 2024 Season


The Selangor FC Women's squad, under the leadership of Osmera Omaro, secured third place in the 2024 National Women's League (LWN), marking a successful third season of the Gergarsi Merah Women's Squad Development Program.

In the first round of the LWN competition, the Selangor FC Women's squad managed to get 13 points from four wins from matches against Red Eagles SC (5-0), Real CJ ??FC (9-0), SSM Pahang (4-0) and Melaka FA (1-0), one draw; against Malaysia University FT (1-1) and two losses; Kelana United (0-1) and Sabah FA (2-1).

The Red Giant Women's players are increasingly understanding the philosophy that Osmera Omaro is trying to implement. Greetings from his first year, five wins were achieved in the second round of the LWN; Melaka FA (2-0), Sabah FA (1-0), SSM Pahang (6-0), Real CJ ??FC (15-0) and Read Eagles SC (3-0), one draw; Malaysia University FT (1-1) and one loss; Kelana United (0-1).

This season, the Selangor FC Women's squad showcased a more systematic match pattern, with numerous positive changes reflected in the team's performance. According to statistics, the Red and Yellow squad scored a total of 49 goals, averaging 3.5 goals per match. Leading the charge was Ainsyah Murad, who netted 15 goals. Following her was Adrienna Zamzaihiri with 10 goals, while Najwa Irdina contributed 4 goals. Atiqah Batrisya, Dian Aqilah, Marissa Aleya, and Eusvewana Kadius each scored 3 goals, with Amirah Rahman and Eva Olivianie adding 2 goals each. Nurin Manan and Asma Munajati each scored once, rounding out the team's impressive offensive effort.

In the assist category, Ainsyah Murad also led the way for the Selangor FC Women's squad with 10 assists. Following her was Lyana Soberi with 6 assists. Adrienna Zamzaihiri, Dian Aqilah, and Imanina Aqilah each recorded 4 assists, while Amirah Rahman, Atiqah Batrisya, Nurin Manan, and Hamira Yusma contributed 2 assists apiece. Najwa Irdina, Marissa Aleya, Berlin Leong, and Farisya Hanim each provided 1 assist.

Overall, the Selangor FC Women's squad amassed 29 points from nine wins, two draws, and three losses. The team also recorded nine clean sheets and conceded just six goals in 14 matches during the 2024 LWN competition, highlighting the strength of their defense, which complemented the impressive performances of their attack.

The Selangor FC Women's squad achieved another remarkable success this season, with Ainsyah Murad, the team's midfielder, earning the prestigious title of 2024 National Women's League Player of the year. Her impressive contribution of 15 goals and 10 assists played a pivotal role in the team's performance. This outstanding accomplishment serves as a source of pride and is expected to inspire the rest of the squad to strive for even greater success in the seasons to come.
